Free estimates. No spam, no pressure.
What We Fix
We work on all makes and models. If the job does not need a lift or a frame rack, odds are we can do it in your driveway, your work parking lot, or wherever the car quit.
Professional scan tools and a meter, not a parts cannon. We find the actual fault before anyone spends money on parts. Diagnosis is billed at $140 per hour, one hour minimum.
Dead in a parking lot? This is the fastest category we handle, and most of it is a same visit fix.
Pads, rotors, and the front end work most mobile guys turn down. We carry the tools for the heavy stuff.
The work most mobile mechanics will not touch. Timing chains and head gaskets in a driveway, done right.
In Arizona these are not optional. Overheating and a dead AC both get handled on site.
The routine stuff, without burning half your Saturday sitting in a lobby.
What We Specialize In
We service all automotive vehicles, but these three are where we do our best work.
BMW, Mercedes, Audi, VW. The brands most mobile mechanics will not touch, because they need the right procedure and the right tool instead of guesswork.
Diesel trucks and equipment, diagnosed and repaired on site. Different fuel system, different rules, and we know them.
Timing chains, timing belts, guides, and tensioners. That is a timing set in the logo above, and it is the job we get called in to finish after someone else has opened it up.
Why Tapia
ASE certified, insured, ten years in, running a stocked service truck across the Valley.
Head gaskets, timing chains, and subframe jobs, not just oil changes and batteries.
Home, work, or the parking lot it quit in. No tow bill, no rental car, no ride to arrange.
If we told you a repair would fix it and it does not, we come back and finish the job at no greater price.
Estimates are free and diagnosis is $140 per hour with a one hour minimum. You get the number before we start, and if the scope changes you hear it from us first.
Who Shows Up
Tapia Auto & Repair LLC is Tanner and his technicians, Kaden and Keagan. Tanner runs the business out of Gilbert and Kaden works out of Tempe, which is how we cover the Valley without turning your repair into a two day wait.
Ten years in the trade and ASE certified. You get a text when your tech is on the way, and photos of the job while it is happening, so you can see what was actually wrong instead of taking our word for it.
How It Works
Call, text, or fill out the form. Year, make, model, and the symptom is enough to start.
If the fault is clear we quote the repair over the phone at no charge. If it is not, we come diagnose it, billed at $140 per hour with a one hour minimum. For most of the service area that rate already covers the drive out to you.
Pick a window that works. The truck shows up stocked with tools and the parts for the job.
You approve the work, we finish it, then you pay. You get photos of the job as we go.
Service Area
We are based in Gilbert with a technician working out of Tempe, so most of the East Valley is a short run for us.
We also cover parts of the West Valley and run out to Casa Grande. If your city is not listed, call and ask. We will tell you straight whether we can get to you.

Every one of these was done outside a shop, without a lift.
Reviews
“I am so excited to have found such a fair, honest and convenient mechanic! Tanner was excellent in his communication, fairly priced, and went above and beyond.”
“He was also extremely honest. When he was doing the repair and found that my front set were still good, he did not need to replace. Their pricing was extremely fair.”
“Our car wouldn't start and we had been super frustrated taking it multiple times to a dealership. The guys at Tapia Auto were super responsive and had so much knowledge.”
“Did the requested brake pad replacement and gave valuable info on the rotor condition, saving me a couple hundred dollars. Excellent value and convenience.”
“Great guys. Honest. And very easy to deal with. Kaden came to my home garage and fixed a coolant hose on my Mercedes. He was very professional and knowledgeable.”
“Tanner was responsive and up front with everything. They were really busy but managed to squeeze us in. Found and replaced the faulty sensor deep under the hood.”
Questions
Almost everything. Brakes, suspension, starting and charging, cooling, AC, diagnostics, and most engine and timing work happen right where the vehicle sits. The exceptions are jobs that need a lift or a frame rack, like transmission removal and alignments. If your job is one of those, we tell you before we come out.
Estimates are always free. Diagnosis is billed at $140 per hour with a one hour minimum, because a real diagnosis means a technician on site with scan tools and a meter finding the actual fault instead of guessing at parts.
Some faults take fifteen minutes and some take three hours of tearing into an intake to chase a misfire. You get the number before we start, and if the job turns out to be the second kind, you hear that from us before the cost moves. You will never get a surprise number at the end.
There is one, but most of the time you never see it as a separate charge. It is already built into the $140 diagnostic, so for the bulk of our service area you pay the hourly rate and nothing on top of it for the drive.
It only becomes its own line on the longer runs, where the distance is far enough that the drive is real time out of the day. If your address is one of those, we tell you what the travel adds before we come out. You will not find it on the invoice for the first time at the end.
Standard service warranty on our work. The short version: if we recommended or guaranteed a repair to fix your problem, and that repair does not fix it, we come back and make it right at no greater price to you.
All automotive vehicles, every make and model. We specialize in European, diesel, and timing work.
Two things we turn down: semi trucks, and high voltage electrical work on full EVs. We will still do brakes, suspension, and general work on an EV, just not the high voltage system.
We normally supply the parts so the warranty covers both the parts and the labor. If you already bought parts we can usually still install them, but then the warranty covers our labor only.
Often, yes. We run 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and breakdowns and no starts get priority. Call or text 602-217-5954 and we will tell you honestly what the schedule looks like.
The East Valley is home base: Mesa, Gilbert, Chandler, Queen Creek, San Tan Valley, Apache Junction, Tempe, Scottsdale, and Phoenix. We also cover parts of the West Valley and travel out to Casa Grande. Outside that, call and ask.
